Information High End FPGA Cards for Crypto mining

I'm going to treat this post as wikipage where i collect all current highend mining fpgas. I will try to make this information as correct as possible. If you feel something is wrong let me know and we make sure its corrected. If you feel your or someone elses product is being misrepresented, let me know and we will sort it out.

I write this to have the relevant information collected in one place. I'm in no way an expert in fpgas, i write this information because i don't think its accurately maintained anywhere else.

About bitstreams

I have not included any hash rates since that would be very hard to keep up with. Right now there are three developers that have released bitstreams, they are whitefire,digitalcruncher(dc) and TheSeven you can find their bitstreams at:

For core heavy algorithms most, maby even all, boards are power limited meaning that the boards can not supply the fpga with enough power to utilize it fully. You can see how much power the board can supply the fpga with by compairing the vccint values.

As far as i have understood, algos that are not core intensive should have about equal performance across the boards using the same chip.

Future bitstreams may combine core and memory heavy algos to create dual or even trippel mining bitstreams. This type of bitstream would again benefit from being able to supply the fpga with more power.

About overclocking

Overclocking fpgas is not realy like overclocking gpus. The fpga dosent have a fixed speed it can run but it instead depends on different properties of the bitstream. Overclocking the boards is more about how much over the power limit you can run the board without hurting it and how much heat you can disipate from the fpga and power components.

About memory

Memory inserted in DIMM slots on the fpga boards will most likely not be used for mining directly. Right now there are no bitstreams that use the memory in the DIMM slots. One possible use for the memory is to store bitstreams for rapid reconfiguration of parts of the fpga, this could be used on some large or dynamic algos. Rapid reconfiguration could also be done over pcie. Size and speed of the memory does not equal faster or slower hasrates right now. It is not impossible that someone finds a way of using the memory for something useful in the future. I have decided to call the memory that is external to the fpga for "External memory" in the list below.

Comment: this is based on xilinx as of yet unreleased production version of vcu1525 called xbb1525. this board is bitstream compatible with vcu but superior in every way.

Comment: This is not a good buy due to the other cards on the market having better price performance.

Comment: It's a vcu1525 that has been somewhat modified. It seems to only be sold as part of a rig with 4 cards, the rig price is $25000, this seems like a very high markup for 4x VCU1525.
